CMG

CUSTOM TRADESHOW EXHIBIT PACKAGE

CMG provides a flexible acquisition marketplace that simplifies the complex contracting process, linking government buyers with cutting-edge commercial technology providers. A very important service, but at the same time, not the sexiest message for a billboard. - The challenge, presented by the principle of CMG, was to design a tradeshow exhibit package that made CMG look sexy, elegant and dynamic at their tradeshows. Below are the final results.

GRAPHIC COMPOSITING

CREATING A TRADESHOW EXHIBIT GRAPHICS PACKAGE:

Designing tradeshow graphics requires a little more attention to detail than a typical graphics package. Because of the size of the graphics and the close proximity of the people visiting the booth, a designer’s methods and techniques need to be more honed and precise in order to produce a high quality final product… especially when compositing. - A lot of the Photoshop shortcuts and quick masks can’t be used when working at this scale and still maintain the results that are required and expected. - Another challenge for this project was what the client did. How do you design exciting, dynamic graphics for a company that is basically a middleman in the government contracting process? The conclusion was… let’s show off all the amazing technologies that are being produced and used because of the services CMG provides. - The end result was an eye catching graphics package that got technologists and government project managers to stop and stare in front of the CMG exhibit. And a backdrop that the CMG staff was proud to stand in front of.

CUSTOM EXHIBIT

CMG’s standard floorspace at a tradeshow was 10ft x 20ft. Occasionally, if they were going to a larger event, they might bump it up to a 20ft x 20ft space. - Typically, these requirements wouldn’t justify moving the project in the direction of a full custom exhibit, because of the additional costs that go along with the design, fabrication, shipping, setup and storage of the structure. But this client was adamant about how they wanted CMG presented at shows and they had the budget to backup the request. So we all agreed custom would be a great direction for the desired effect. - The final package included a custom curved backwall with 2nd surface to acrylic graphics and dimensional lettering with backlighting. The custom front counter had a large touchscreen built into the countertop for presentations, along with a backlit graphic on the front. An additional custom backlit totem provided graphic ID for CMG’s partners, while CMG had a large fabric structure in the air for additional identification. And on the rear aisle was a 20ft x 8ft lightbox with seamless backlit dye-sub fabric graphic. - The exhibit was a very successful tool that lured potential clients into the floorspace.

COLLATERAL MATERIAL

Even in the digital era exhibitors like to have something physical they can give to people that visited their booth. That visitor is stopping at many booths over the course of a tradeshow and may have already forgotten about you by the time they are eating a fun size Snickers two booths down from you. But, when they get back to their hotel room, or back to their office the following week. They will have this physical reminder sitting on their desk. A reminder to give you a phone call or visit your website… and hopefully do business with you. - Below are the double-sided cut-sheets that were designed and produced, to complete the CMG Tradeshow Package.
